Effluent Sterilization
Benefits of Precision Continuous Flow Thermal Processing-Effluent and Waste Sterilization
Our custom Effluent Processors use continuous flow thermal process technology to pasteurize or sterilize liquid effluent or waste from processes such as fermenters. This technology is more efficient than thermal batch processes. Additionally it eliminates the use of large volumes of dangerous chemicals utilized in chemical sanitization/sterilization processes.
Our precision processors:
Are “Green” by reducing the need for chemical kill steps, and by reclaiming energy with regenerative heating and cooling.
Provide complete sterilization or pasteurization without the use of dangerous chemicals
Maximize profits because of energy efficiencies, yield increases, reliability, & ease of use
Fermentation and Growth Media Applications
Our processors use continuous flow thermal process technology to sterilize or pasteurize:
Fermenter effluent
Waste water
Serum containing growth media
Fluid waste from other manufacturing processes
Concept of a Continuous Flow Thermal Process
In a completely closed system, product is pumped through one or more heat exchangers to rapidly raise it to the “process temperature”. It then flows through a hold tube (an insulated tube to hold it at its process temperature for a specified time period). It is within this “hold tube” that the exposure of the product to the process temperature reduces or eliminates any bacteria, viruses, etc., depending on the specific pasteurization or sterilization process.) Next, it flows through one or more heat exchangers to cool it to the filling temperature. Finally, the product exits the system to your next unit operation or to a collection vessel.
Our optimized processors heat, hold, and cool your product at extremely precise conditions to maximize its impact. Our touchscreen PLC/PC makes them extremely easy to use. Finally, the energy efficiencies of our equipment makes it very “GREEN” and can greatly reduce your operational costs.
